WRITING FOR FUN AND PROFIT

"Write and be Published", read the title of a promotional brochure I had recieved in the mail. It outlined how easy it was for anyone to become a writer and earn money with 'ink and paper'.

I've always wanted to be a writer and if I can remember correctly, I first had this desire to write for a living when I was 15.

After enrolling in the creative writing course, I wondered whether there was any shortcut I could take to get published fast. Indeed! My tutor told me to concetrate on writing readers' letters and short articles.

Bingo! Readers'letters and short articles are easy to write. All that is needed is a unique idea and a well presented article. I'm sure you have also aired your views and opinions through the "Letters to the Editor" column found in most publictions. Some publictions pay for the Star Letter of the day or week or month, while others also pay a lesser amount for the other published letters. Other publications will also pay you for writing fillers such as jokes, handy hints, how-to tips and short stories. However, it's not always guaranteed that your work will be published in the newspapers and magazines you submit your articles.

So if you take pleasure in writing and are thinking of becoming a published writer and getting paid for your work, you should look for alternative media.

The internet offers that alternative space for writing for cash. Content based sites are in need of fresh materials and ideas. They will pay you for writing reviews, articles, blog posts or for just sharing your opinions.

If you have never thought about this opportunity, then you are missing out. Everyday, thousands of articles are published online. The majority of them written by people like you. Read more.

Yes! You too can become a published writer, writing articles which can bring you extra cash. It will be so riverting to see your work in print and contributing to the pleasure and education of millions of people.
